This is Ben Novak. When I was at Polyphonic, HSS scored a song of his called Turn Your Car Around with very high marks. I loved the song and sent it to a few people. Not long after that it was a top 5 hit in seven or eight countries for SonyBMG artist Lee Ryan.

This is a new song and here at Platinum Blue this one also scores off the charts. It’s a hit waiting to happen! Someone pick this guy up!! Both the artist and the song are available. For more go to www.bennovak.com

Hi Mike, I enjoyed the track. Reminded me of my childhood. The retro side of the clip is neat. First impression is good. I will share it with a few friends and see.
Thanks for sending it. If you have others, keep me posted. Robert.

Excellent… unique – although retro, a contemporary sound. It is a nice blend between Marshall Crenshaw and Chris Isaak. I will forward this on… Thanks.

Dude! I can tell this is one of those songs that you hear it once and think, “Not bad.” But, then you listen to it a couple more times and you can’t get it out of your head. I’ll send this on.

Mike– Great chorus! I like the melody but there was something in the music arrangement that didn’t sound right. I like the song much more than the video. The video seems repetitive without a clear line. It actually bother me a lot. I think I would have liked the song much more if I haven’t had associated it to the video. I agree that it is a retro sound with a contemporary twist. Nevertheless I would have liked it more if the sound would have been a little bit more clean withouth that many music arrangements or maybe different music arrangments. Of course this is only my opinion. Great production!. Congratulations. Thank you for sharing it with me.

Thanks for sending this to me Mike. For me the video was too distracting and I really didn’t hear the music and lyrics the first time I listened to it. I liked the song when I heard it without viewing the video. It has a catchy rythym to it.

Mike: Thanks for the link. I enjoyed this but agree that the video does not add impact for the song. The only “touchup” I would suggest is shortening the intro from 10 bars to 6 bars (deleting what are now bars 5 through 8). I think this would make the onset more immediate and put the song more “in your face”. On repeated hearings the song does stick with you. On repeated viewings I think i react to the video because the lyrics are mixed well back into the thick track, and I’m mentally trying to connect the images with lyrics that I can’t easily hear. Once I close my eyes and just listen and let it roll over me without trying to “parse” the song, it sounds fine. And stronger with each listen. I think you’ll connect with this.

    Hola Mike,
