Very Interesting Production Explanation for 35 Year Old Song: I’m Not In Love by 10cc

I read about this in one of Bob Lefsetz’ emails and when I watched the video I knew I had to pass it along. This is so interesting and for anyone who doesn’t know what goes into taking a song from a guy and a guitar to a full blown record it’s a thrilling peek behind the curtain – even 35 years later it’s the same kind of process. The tools have gotten a lot better though. Computers make everything easier.

    THIS IS ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITES ! I KNEW THE MINUTE
I HEAR IT, THAT HISTORY WAS IN THE MAKING ! THE WAY THE
THE SONG WAS PRODUCE, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS 35 YEARS
AGO, THAT SOUND WAS SO NEW THAT IT MADE IT ALMOST
IMPOSSIBLE TO PLAY AS A COVER TUNE ! BELIEVE ME I SPENT
MONTHS TRYING TO REPRODUCE THE EXACT SOUND AND
COULD NOT DO IT ..... NOW AFTER WATCHING THE VIDEO I
UNDERSTAND WHY IT COULDN'T BE DONE.
